Antibes to Cannes
A first-of-its-kind open-water crossing on the Côte d’Azur.
On August 3rd, I swam from Antibes to Cannes — 17.8 km along the Côte d’Azur, in 5 hours and 18 minutes.
A swim that had never been done before.
To become the first person to swim this route, in one of the most iconic places in the world, is something I will always carry with me. I honestly don’t know if I will ever have a more iconic finish to a swim.
But for me, this swim represents something much bigger than a distance, a time, or being the first. It is a reminder of what can happen when we set ourselves a challenge and commit to it. With hard work, dedication and the courage to keep going, we are capable of much more than we sometimes believe. I hope this swim inspires someone, somewhere, to take on their own challenge — in the water, in sport, or in life.
And I especially hope it encourages more women and girls to step into sport. To dream bigger. To challenge themselves. To take up space. And to know that they are capable of extraordinary things.
Anything is possible when you are willing to work for it. 🌊
