Athens to Fleves Island Swim
A pioneering approximately 20 km open-water challenge in Greece.

On 15 September 2026, I set out to achieve something that had never been done before an approximately 20 km open-water swim from Alimos to Fleves Island, Greece.
The swim started in good conditions, but gradually the weather turned. The wind increased, the sea became rough, and the final stretch was the hardest. With the current against me, at one point I swam for nearly 40 minutes with almost no progress.
I stopped thinking about the distance and focused on one thing: every stroke counts.
As Fleves Island is a restricted military area, for security reasons I had to finish approximately 100 meters from the island without touching the shore.
After 5 hours and 16 minutes, I completed the challenge becoming the first person to complete this swim.
The sea reminded me once again that we cannot control the conditions, only our determination to keep moving forward.
And with all my heart and pride, I dedicate this achievement to my beloved country, Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦.
